Puppy Socialization – A fun class for puppies 8 – 14 weeks. Early socialization and training play a major role in the rest of your dog’s life. Handling, safe socialization, foundation skills (sit, down, come, stay, leash manners) and common “puppy” issues will be addressed. Topped off with playful exposure to our puppy playground. Clicker and treat pouch included.

Family Dog Foundation Class- Suitable for all dogs 16 weeks and up. In this class we focus on the positive as we train the foundation skills necessary for a lifetime of successful learning. Open enrollment allows each handler/dog team to work at their own level on the life skills of recall, loose leash walking, polite greetings, learning to settle, targeting, sit and down, wait, and capturing and shaping games. Clicker and treat pouch included. First class is a required orientation without dogs.

Recall and Distractions – One of the most important classes you can take with your dog. Every dog needs a solid recall. It’s a skill that can save his/her life. In this class you will learn how to build and test value, create a rock solid reinforcement zone, and embrace distractions as tools in your training program.
Puppy Socialization, Foundation class, or private evaluation as prerequisite.

Rutland County Humane Society Pet Manners: (proceeds benefit RCHS) - 6 weeks
A reward based training class utilizing a traditional consecutive weekly format. Teach your dog valuable life skills; sit, lie down, come when called, polite greetings and self control. Hanlders learn how to reinforce positive behaviors, manage unwanted behaviors and accurately read canine body language. Clicker Training will be introduced. First class is required orientation without dogs.

Recreational Agility- You and your dog have never had so much fun! By using games and play dogs become comfortable creating noise and watching movement of other teams. Improve focus by working in the reinforcement zone and learning to “drive out”. Low impact jumping, contact obstacles, tunnel and targeting are introduced. After 8 weeks returning dogs will begin weave poles, and teeter.
Must complete KPA Foundation or private evaluation to participate. Highly recommend Recall/Distraction class as a prerequisite. 16 weeks and up.

Open ring to practice with your dog around various distractions. Current students or invitation only please.
Cautious Canine - Designed to build confidence and self control in the reactive dog. Must complete initial private evaluation. Orientation required.

Most classes are held outdoors @ Click for Confidence at Windsong Hill, Inc., in Pawlet, Vt. Puppy Pre-school, Family Dog Foundation and Rutland County Humane Society Pet Manners are also held at Red Dog Solutions, Rt. 4 Rutland, Vermont.
Dress appropriately. Hat and sunglasses in warm weather. Bring mat, high value treats. For cancellations due to weather, call or check calendar for make-ups. Class schedule subject to change before June 18th.
Proof of vaccinations from your veterinarian is required.
